DOUGHNUT TIME….

So, Winnie decided she wanted doughnuts for dinner…. So healthy, dairy free, quick easy doughnuts here we come… Let me just say these are more like shaped sweet dampers, so no replacement to a fried doughnut but they taste yum and Winnie only really cared about the round shape, icing and sprinkles….
1 1/2 cups of self raising flour
2 tablespoons of lite nuttelex, or your butter of choice
1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
90mls of oat milk, or whatever milk you use at home
1/4 cup of sugar
Pre heat your oven to 200 degrees.
Add your flour and baking powder to a bowl and mix together, then add your butter and rub together until it resembles breadcrumbs, add the sugar and stir to mix through
Add your milk a little at time because you might need more or less depending on how good you were with your flour measuring.
Mix into a dough and knead on a floured surface until it is lovely and smooth, roll your dough out to be about 2cm thick and cut out your doughnut shapes with a big and little cutter and place the doughnuts on baking paper and tray then bake on 200 degrees for 10-15mins.
We made our icing with 2 tablespoons of icing sugar and 1 tablespoon of cocoa and added milk until it was a thick smooth consistency, I iced them when they were hot and dipped them in sprinkles and left them cool.
